"Language is the key to overall success"
Self Description
            I'm currently a final year PhD student in the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in the field of Mechanical/Automotive Engineering. I have taught lab and act as tutor in the university to quite a number of students. However, one thing I realised is the lack of English language command among students. So my method of helping them is to provide English training modified from the VHS German (yeah, I speak fluent German and a bit Spanish) method of language training which is proven to be world-class. I go by first emphasising on 'feeling the sound and replicating it', then 'visual grammatical drill' and 'start-over build from base' method. Typically students show improvement in a month if they fully follow the method prescribed. (Parental help in monitoring will make it even more effective) I allow parents to join in the tuition session for the first 2 sessions to see how I work. I also come from an English speaking family which also speaks other languages, so I have strong grounding in the language. However, my method is a bit strict because i believe that discipline is the key to learning language. And I also believe that confidence is the key. So I do emphasise on discipline and confidence, and that is my selling point. You have to see it to believe it. I have also spoken (given speeches) in conferences in FISITA 2010 (Budapest, Hungary in Europe), ICAE 2010 (Singapore), CBEE 2009 (Singapore), RiVET 2008 (Malaysia), so I guess that made me a rather established speaker. Most importantly for now, I am one of the two founders of the Berry Berry Easy team, one of the most famous education site in Malaysia now.             My proven record is rather good: - Edited Malaysian textbooks in English language in Pelangi Publishing (part-time) - Freelance editor for English books in Thailand - Written children's book anonymously (2004) - Taught adults to learn English on volunteer basis (2004-2007) - Guided students who were weak in English to First Class Honours status in the University - Developed my own syllabus in learning English, which is effective in helping Malaysian students of all races. - I myself is a multiple scholarship holder from Australia (Government of Western Australia), Germany, Rotary International and Switzerland (From the prestigious World Federation of Scientists) - (I have the letters to prove it)

           Current - PhD Final Year (Mechanical/Automotive Engineering) Public Talk - FISITA 2010 (Budapest, Hungary in Europe), ICAE 2010 (Singapore), CBEE 2009 (Singapore), RiVET 2008 (Malaysia) Undergraduate - First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering (topped the cohort before by 5% with 87.9% in a British University system, extremely high margin in university level)(Yes, I still have the cert to prove) Pre-University - Canning College (Perth, Australia) - Second in the entire school. Exchange student year - Heubach Gymnasium, Germany(6th in school despite just learning the German language) VHS Schwaebisch Gmuend - Completed 2 levels of German langauge in a year (typically 1.5 years) Secondary school - Australian National Chemistry quiz High distinction award - Joined numerous national quizzes. - School debate captain and awarded best speaker in preliminary round - 7 times top student in school (lowest ranking is 2nd in school) - Yup, it is a record! - Best SPM student in school (All achievements have prove, you can request to see it) :-)
